VISION: The purpose of this important bi-annual conference is to promote research based on proper and solid sourcing for your ancestors. The work benefits not only yourself and your descendants, but others who cross family lines, as we all do.
MISSION: Provide 20 classes, preceded by an excellent keynote speech, with a lunch in the middle at tables of country-research interest, such as Sister Batar on research in Italy; or Stephany Gonzales on research in Mexico; or Charlie and Lynnette Shipp on learning primary and secondary reference sources by the important work of Indexing.
It's a start .!. . . . And a very good start, IMO/imho.
ReplyDeleteThe Plan is to hold this spot with some temporary text (sometimes temporary text finds its way to final text -- either because it is so good or because there is not time/effort to change it.)
A lot of potential is obvious and will become apparent.
Intention is to have this site as the "planning" site until we are fully planned (and, thanks to Sister Lorna Rice, it looks like we are nearly there!) The site then morphs into an advertising/PR/info site.
After she completes her other major, major event on the thirteenth of this month we will talk to her and get her review and assessment.
As we then progress, we will use this key website for interactive planning for all on the Advisory/Planning/Activity Board for review of action items and assignments. How cool is that?
There will be a dozen or more 'POSTS' in the categories such as 'LUNCH', 'KEYNOTE', 'FINANCE', 'REGISTRATION', 'PR', 'ADVERTISING', 'PRESENTERS', 'TOPICS', 'ABSTRACTS and SYLLABUS', 'FACILITIES and EQUIPMENT', Etc.
Under each post, there will be comments: questions, answers, and discussion to facilitate understanding and confidence in preparation.
These posts have the latest posts pushing down the oldest posts, hence, we can use the same blogspot website here for information to the public as we get closer to the event.
We plan to point to this blog-spot-web-site in Forums.FamilySearch.org
Others can add their comments, emulate and collaborate. This can be a worldwide learning experience, and includes our keynote speaker from Salt Lake City Utah. We look forward to his visit, as do our ancestors! {Tears in our eyes: can you even comprehend how great this will be?}
